Tsinghua University
Tsinghua University is located in the northwest Beijing neighbourhood of Haidian. It was founded in 1911. – Its 20 schools and 54 departments encompass art, economics, education, engineering, history, management, medicine, law, literature, philosophy, and sciences, among other subjects.
It preserves much of its traditional architecture, which contrasts with several structures created in a Western design, reflecting the campus’s past American influence.
Peking University
Peking University is a member of the C9 league, which is akin to the Ivy League group in the United States, and is one of China’s highest ranking colleges. It was China’s first modern national university, and it has maintained a reputation as a top educational institution from its inception in 1898.
To encourage international student exchanges, the university has established joint degree programmes with Cornell University, Yale University, the London School of Economics and Political Science, the Paris School of International Affairs, Waseda University, Seoul National University, and The University of Tokyo.
Fudan University
Handan, Fenglin, Zhangjiang, and Jiangwan are the four campuses of Fudan University in downtown Shanghai. The university’s teaching philosophy is liberal arts, with many courses offered in English.
Internationalisation is also a high priority at the university, which has global connections and exchange programmes with nearly 200 universities around the world, including Columbia University, the University of Toronto, the University of Sydney, KU Leuven, the University of Manchester, and Sciences Po.
Students are also encouraged to participate in overseas exchanges, with around 40% choosing to do so.
The university is exceedingly selective, with less than 0.2 percent of those who take the National College Entrance Examination (gao kao) being accepted.
Zhejiang University
Zhejiang University, founded in 1897, is one of China’s oldest and most elite institutions.
– Agriculture, art, economics, education, engineering, history, law, literature, management, medical, natural sciences, and philosophy are among the 12 academic fields studied at the institution.
On campus, there are six national engineering research centres, three national key research centres for humanities and social sciences, and 13 academies of independent study.
More than 140 universities in 30 countries, including Imperial College London, Princeton University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, have strategic collaborations with the university.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Shanghai Jiao Tong Institution is a prestigious research university in Shanghai, China. There are 31 schools/departments, 31 research institutes, 13 connected hospitals, two affiliated medical research institutes, 20 directly affiliated units, and five directly affiliated firms at the university.
Mechanical engineering, physics, astronomy, humanities, media and design, international and public affairs, and medicine are among the subjects taught at the institution.
The Foreign Student Union at the institution organises a variety of events, volunteer projects, and activities to enable international students engage with one another and the community.
